SCOUT 
 
Eileen Myles brings SCOUT, the first event of her ongoing literary performance series to PARTICIPANT INC. SCOUT is a different kind of festival, more of a shout in the dark, a chorus of irregulars; poets & singers, video artists, playwrights and novelists. It began in New York in June of 1998 at Thread Waxing Space. Poet Eileen Myles was asked by curator Lia Gangitano to put some kind of literary event together. Feeling that anything that's all poetry or fiction is boring, she decided to mix things up. Thursday, April 24th marks SCOUT’s return to New York City under the aegis of PARTICIPANT INC, a space that is dedicated to the same culture-making mission that has welcomed previous SCOUT events.
